Alafnet.com has been reliably informed that the government of Cameroon is tightening security at the Presidential stand of the Amadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde,in view of the 12th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations, the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women’s national teams of Africa to be hosted by Cameroon.Our source confirms on strict instructions from the head of state,Mr Paul Biya, 17 tons of bulletproof glasses and windows will be installed tomorrow 12th of November ,2016 at the presidential stand of the stadium Omnisports .
The 17 tones alafnet.com informer says will cover the 17 walls of 3.70m × 1.40m of the stadium, each weighing one tonne. The bulletproof windows will be delivered by express service by one of the companies of the bollore group specialized in the air freight. The invoice of these bulletproof glasses equals the costs of renovation works of 30 year old stadium at a cost of more than 20 billion FCFA.
The 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held in Cameroon between 19 November and 3 December 2016. The initial dates were 8–22 October 2016, but were changed due to weather considerations.
On 6 August 2015, the CAF Executive Committee decided to change the name of the tournament from the African Women’s Championship to the Africa Women Cup of Nations, similar to the men’s version, Africa Cup Of Nations.
Meanwhile,25 hotels have been selected by Cameroon for hosting of the various delegations and official CAF accredited journalists during the AFCON to be held in Yaoundé and Limbe from the 19th of November to the 03rd of December.The 25 hotels which are expected run 24 hours service for the 8 countries that qualified for the competition(Cameroon,Equatorial Guinea,Egypt,Kenya,South Africa,Ghana,Zimbabwe and Nigeria) are based in Yaounde, Douala, and Limbe
