Cameroon railways company (Camrail) officials during an interrogation by the Eseka accident committee said Edagar Alain Mebe Ngo’o did not ‘did not order’ Camrail to increases the coaches according to information reaching alafnet.com.

 

Camrail official before the committee say they received a call from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport who was asking them about what needed to be done. According to them,They(CAMRAIL) confirmed on phone that they have taken measures to ensure that all the passengers are transported. So they ‘did not receive any ORDER’ from Minister Mebe Ngo’o.

In the  above statement they contradict themselves because on Sunday Oct. 23rd, a Camrail’s Senior Manager confirmed over Vision 4 Television channel that Minister Mebe Ngo’o INSTRUCTED Camrail to add the coaches.

To add to this ,On CRTV’s 1 p.m radio news on 21st October, 2016, Minister Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o bragged that HE HAD INSTRUCTED CAMRAIL to transport as many people as possible in its coaches so as to accommodate the needs of frustrated travellers, who were unable to travel by road due to the landslide some 68 km from Yaounde that separated the road linking Yaounde and Douala .
