Police station Ngaoundere after the Flames
L’Œil du Sahel on 17th of November ,2016 reports that everything at the Ngaoundere police station has been consumed by flames.
A fire broke out on the 13th of November, 2016 in the building housing the police office in the capital of the Adamaoua region destroying the furniture, documents, computer equipment and roofing of the building. Alafnet.com gathered that at the moment, the origin of the fire remains is still on known.
On the story Camerooninfor.net reports that Marcel Ondoa Ondoa, the police head of the service, who was in Yaounde at the time of the fire, returned immediately on Tuesday morning November 15th. Before leaving Ngaoundere, he had kept his personal belongings in his office, including documents (birth certificates, diplomas, appointments), a television set, a gas bottle … all of which were consumed by the flames. Only the empty gas bottle was spared by the fire “.
According to a local resident, “when the elements of the GMI arrived, smoke was still coming out of the office of the head of the police unit. They broke the door and were able to save a wooden chair, a computer monitor and a landline phone,before calling the firefighters who arrived around 14:30.
After installing their equipment, the firefighter found out that their vehicle had no water.
The Governor of Adamawa region , Boukar Kildadi Taguiéké arrived at the scene but the intervention of the fire brigade did not prevent the disaster. Despite the return of firefighters with water, the governor found their inability to control the flames and appealed to the Fire-fighting brigade of CAMRAIL and the airport. But it was already too late. All they did was to limit the fire from spreading to the neighborhoods, “says one witness.
