Deputy vice-president of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), Joshua Osih has reacted to claims made by national assembly speaker Cavaye Yeguie Djibril in which he presented social media networks as a new form of terrorism in Cameroon.

The national assembly speaker made the declaration while opening the November parliamentary session.Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, opined that these platforms for sharing information online and exchanges have become a weapon devoted to disinformation.

The speaker added that the social networks are now as dangerous as a missile dropped in the wild.In an interview with the BBC, SDF Member of parliament Joshua Osih observed that “Every time an individual does not understand something, he thinks it is a danger to him,” “Unfortunately, we have an older generation in the National Assembly who have refused to leave power!!

So we have 30 days to try to explain to them that social networks are a tool for development and it is an immense opportunity for our country, not a means of destabilization.

”The SDF Member of Parliament noted that those who destabilize the country “are those in power today … that is, Mr. Biya and those who work with him.”
