Report says Students of the University of Yaounde II – Soa are currently protesting over the non payment of their Excellence award prices (in french-Prime d’Excellence).

Some students are however currently being paid, but all the students of the 2014-2015 batch of the Private Law says they were not considered for unexplained reasons, and none of their names are on the payment list.
According to  henrietteslounge.com,they have noisily gathered in front of the amphi-theater, where the Rector ,Oumarou Bouba is presiding over the University Board meeting, and say if he doesn’t come out and attend to them, they will leave the campus for the streets.
For the past 5 years to students in all state universities have benefited from this Presidential grant offered by the head of state Mr Paul Biya.
Meanwhile Alafnet.com also gathered  that tension is high at University of Douala .Students say they have been facing the same problems at the Faculty of Juridical and Political Sciences (FSJP) since last year.
Of the more than 6,000 students in the FSJP University of Douala , only about 25 students names have appeared on the lists of the those to benefit from the Presidential grant.

A Student who spoke to alafnet.com informed that he will not be  surprised if the same protest is launched in Douala. He further question the  criteria is used to award this scholarship.

For her no body knows what criteria is use to award the price because even those who pass with flying colours during normal session did not see their names on the lists but some students who came for resit received the price of excellence.
