As the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon discusses the restoration of The Independence of Southern Cameroons / self-determination with a Traditional Authority from Southern Cameroons, in the UN Head Quarter in New York.
The United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, shake hands after granting audience to a freedom fighter and a strong advocate of the restoration of the Independence of Southern Cameroons, at the UN Head Quarters in New York, HRH FORCHENMBIN Charles A. is a Traditional Ruler from Southern Cameroons, precisely from Alou – Lebialem Division in the South West Region.
The Traditional Ruler was one of the dignitaries particularly invited recently to present a paper at the International Conference organized to commemorate the International Day of the Indigenous peoples in the United Nations. Being a community leader representing indigenous peoples from Southern Cameroons, he presented the acute problems affecting Southern Cameroonians, ranging from underdevelopment, exploitation of resources,
assimilation, marginalization and gradual elimination of their values, annexation of A Peoples who were officially recognized by the United Nations as an Independent State in 1961. At the end of the historic audience, he revealed to the pressed that he had a frank discussion with the S.G. of the U.N. about the massive killings, brutalities, random arrests of human rights activists from Southern Cameroons, imprisonment without trial, rapes and kidnappings of citizens of Southern Cameroonians by forces of occupation and repression from La Republique du Cameroun.
It’s important to note, that the Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, listened to him keenly and honestly acknowledged the fact that the Southern Cameroons issue exist and is well documented in the UN, he however recommended dialogue as his predecessor Kofi Atta Annan earlier advised the present dictator Paul BIYA, as the best option for a peaceful settlement for the two territories that “United” to become one. He however, assured him that the United Nations would not fail to play its role as the final arbiter for a satisfactory solution.
Speaking in his residence in Washington D.C United States, the Traditional Ruler didn’t mince his words as he called on the UN through its Secretary General, to complete the work they started in 1961, by restoring the independence they granted Southern Cameroons as a lasting solution to 55 years of enslavement, torture and killings of Southern Cameroonians because of their rights of self-determination as inscribed in the United Nations Charter. He further briefed the Secretary General of the UN, that the hidden plans of La Republique du Cameroun were justified when the flag of 1961-1975, with two stars on a green background representing the two territories of equal status was changed by Ahmadou Ahidjo to one star on a red back ground, further he refused to implement the Federal constitution which brought the two states into The Federal Republic of Cameroon and single handedly created The United Republic of Cameroon. The present dictator Paul BIYA in order to complete the work his predecessor started, in a presidential decree in 1984, changed the name of the country from United Republic of Cameroon to The Republic of Cameroun. La Republique du Cameroun had seceded from the union and West
Cameroon was supposed to regain its status of independence that it had in 1961. These moves were clear enough to indicate that, La Republique du Cameroun is out to annex and assimilate Southern Cameroonians in every aspect.
His last worry was the fact that The United Nations is too slow in interventions and conflict resolutions, sometimes intervening late when there is a lot of bloodshed and loss of lives.
Quoting a popular Jamaican reggae musician, Bob Marley in one of his popular songs,
HRH FORCHENMBIN Charles sang briefly the following lines:
“…get up, stand up…stand up for your rights…don’t give up the fight…” The time is now. WE’RE WINNING HUGELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reacting to the recent killings, rape, human right abuses and imprisonment of Southern Cameroonians by forces of repression from La Republique du Cameroun, he reiterated the fact that the citizens of peace loving Southern Cameroonians are determined more than ever before to carry their independence struggle to a successful end. He categorized the misdeeds of the autocratic regime and its forces of repression as a shameful image in the eyes of the international community to see what is happening in our territory just for the simple fact that we stand against gradual elimination of our values, educational and judiciary systems, rampant exploitation of our economic resources, gross human rights abuses which are tangible reasons for the United Nations to hasten their intervention in the restoration process of the independence of Southern Cameroons.
THE CUBE OF SUGAR HAS REFUSED TO DISSOLVE IN A BASIN OF WATER; THE WAY FORWARD IS TO PULL IT OUT OF THE BASIN AND PUT IT AN APPROPRIATE BASIN.
Courage to all Southern Cameroonians involved in this struggle groups and individuals, especially the Consortium and HON. WIRBA Joseph, HE’S AN UNFORGETTABLE INSPIRATION AND HERO IN THIS STRUGGLE.
The Traditional ruler, encouraged the freedom fighters of Southern Cameroons to stand their grounds, as the regime of La Republique du Cameroun has refused dialogue, calling us extremists and resorting to bribery and corruption, intimidation, divide and rule, killings, terror, rape and a military occupation of the territory of Southern Cameroons. He made it clear that by resorting to bribery and corruption of the Chiefs, members of the consortium, the D.Os, S.D.Os and Mayors etc is an indication that there is panic and confusion in the annexationists’ regime, the last kicks of a dying horse, before it finally crumbles. He expressed his gratitude on the strike action which succeeded 100%, portraying to La Republique du Cameroun and the rest of the world that the BIYA regime has lost gripe over the territory of Southern Cameroons. The strike has to continue indefinitely, They got all the arms but are still VERY confused and panicking, while SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS ARE UNITED AND INDIVISIBLE, OUR STRENTH IS THE EDUCATION WE HAVE ACQUIRED, WE’RE USING IT TO RESHAPE OUR FUTURE AS SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS. OUR WAPPONS ARE; RESISTANCE AND THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA. OUR DUTY IS TO RESIST.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE CONSORTUIM SHOULDN’T ACCEPT ANY FURTHER NEGOTIATIONS WITH LA REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN WITHOUT A THIRD PARTY, A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNITED NATIONS.
ALL SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS SHOULD GET ON BOARD WITH THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS. EACH CONTRIBUTION COUNTS. SOONER OR LATER, WE’LL CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE; He concluded.
