BBC journalist Randy Joe, arrested Wednesday January 1 2017, for covering an interview outside the military tribunal where he had gone to cover the trial of Anglophone Consortium leaders.
The lawyers who were interceding for his release, apparently succeeded. He was released on a 1,600 US Dollar Bail (977,600FCFA)
The BBC World correspondent in Cameroon has been charged with complicity to propagate false information and he has to report to the gendarmerie again for questioning.
His crime was recording speeches outside the military tribunal.
Here is the moment when Randy Joe Sa’ah, was arrested in the premises of the Yaounde Military tribunal . The arresting officer can be heard saying in the video that only the state media CRTV is authorized to cover the trial.
