CAMEROON: Chinese company (CPP) to start pipeline construction from Limbe to Douala in January 2017

Chinese Petroleum company  (CPP) is to start pipeline construction from Limbe (Victoria) to Douala this January 2017, a distance of 110km according to a report by Journal Du Cameroun Posted on 30/12/2015.

A Construction contract for the said job was signed in Yaounde on the 28th of December 2015 by the minister of water and energy, Basile ATANGANA KOUNA.

Following this public/private partnership contract with the Consortium 3PL SA for the conception, financing, construction, exploitation and the maintenance of the pipeline,3PL SA will give the office of China Petroleum Pipeline (CPP) the physical realisation of the job which will start from Limbe, Douala, Edea and Yaounde.

This said pipeline alafnet.com understands will serve in transporting petroleum products from Limbe (Victoria) in the South West to Yaounde, the capital of La République du Cameroun

The negotiations with China Petroleum Pipeline took six months and CPP will make sure the construction of the pipeline is completed within two years , as indicated by the president of the board of administration of 3PL, Mohamadou Dabou as reported in the French Weekly National Newspaper of 30/12/2015.

According to the vice president of CPP, Chen Qingxun, the finished project will generate about 3000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase, against 150 direct and 300 indirects jobs during the exploitation phase.
