The Councillor, who bears the title of Chief of Kombone Town, even as arguments prolong over the stool, was reportedly thrown behind bars, but later released after investigations were opened into the matter.
Thisis unfolding at a time when the traditional ruler cum Councillor is mourning the death of Mayor William Ekong of Mbonge Council.
Quizzed on the sidelines of a CPDM joint Sections conference held in Kumba on February 6, Chief Esue debunked the allegations. He told The Post that the information being spread is false and must be the work of his detractors. He further stated that there is no problem in his village regarding missing funds.
Esue, however, admitted there was a problem but averred that the situation is currently under control and is village was moving on well.
However, the other challenger to the Kombone throne, Eric Sakwe, a student of the Higher Technical Teachers Training College HTTTC, Kumba, has not given his quest to mount the Kombone Town stool.
