Cameroon : The workers of Hydro Syno demand their wages

They were workers Syno Hydro Corporation who had come to claim their rights. The Chinese company that was responsible for the contract was had been removed and replaced by Arab Contractors, an Egyptian company.Syno Hydro packed up late last week, apparently without honour its commitments with its Cameroonian workers.
Faced with this situation and with the silence of the authorities, workers who felt neglected wanted to make their voices heard. “We are here to demand our money since last Friday arriving at the site, we found that the Chinese had left without paying our money, ” says Pierre François Elanga, one of the striking employees.
In addition to money, the protesters who were contracted by Hydro Syno for 320 CFA francs / hour wanted to be reintegrated into the site, even with other companies. “We are ready to work because we want to participate in the preparation of CAN 2016 and 2019 “, said another employee also on strike. it is our understanding that, the prefect of Mfoundi, Jean Claude Tsila who was there, promised that the payments would be made as soon as possible.
