Reports from Buea in the South West Region of Cameroon indicate that security forces have opened fire on Students of the University of Buea who have been on strike since early Monday ,November 28 2016.
alafnet.com gathered that some of the reasons for the strike action by the Hundreds of students who gathered in front of Central Administration are denouncing the payment fee of 10,000 FCFA as late entry for registration and non payment of Presidential grants.
University authorities had issued a statement to explain to the students the trouble with the presidential grants,insisting that the MINESUP has not yet disbursed the money.
Their leaders are not known and alafnet.com is aware that students were severely brutalized by the heavy security forces deployed.

In another news,the University of Buea Choir came under fire last month for staging a “Thank you” concert for the Head of State’s promise to donate laptops to all students in State Universities in Cameroon, financed by a giant loan from from a Chinese bank.
