Identification process has begun and more information is needed for assistance to reach victims from the University of Buea,caught-up in the recent marshal law expreienced in the capital of the south West Region of Cameroon.
Alafnet.com understands that the Volunteers from the United Support for Peace (NGO) will begin visiting victims of police and gendarmerie brutality in Buea as from Dec 5.
The contact details are expected to be provided by Monday Dec 5, 2016 at 9:00 am Cameroon time after which a team of USP volunteers would be on ground to assess and assist identified victims, pay their hospital bills and provide any other support needed.
The information provided to USP shall be treated confidentially and would be used to facilitate the assistance process.
While announcing the 1.000.000 Frs package (already handy) to assist the victims, USP Founder Dr David Makongo, describe the gesture as the NGO’s own way of promoting peace and protect the helpless in our communities.
USP also intends to extend its moral support and other support to the lawyers and is working on modalities to offer them assistance in the nearest future.
