According to the National Human Rights Commission leaders in Cameroon Dr. Chemuta Divine Banda and Tambe Tiku, there was no court hearing today for detained Consortium leader Dr. Felix Agbor Balla.
In a phone conversation with Tambe Tiku, here are the stakes:
– National Human Rights Commission requested for improved prison conditions for Dr. Balla following several complaints he made about his shambolic treatment by the state guards.
– It was not a court procedure. Both English and French lawyers were there including Barrister Akere Muna and Ben Muna.

– Dr. Fontem is at the Central Prison while Balla is in the principal prison. All prisons are the same but located opposite each other.
– Dr. Fontem is probably kept in the VIP section. Balla seized the opportunity to meet friends today. It was a relaxed atmosphere for him.
Tambe Tiku and Dr. Chemuta Divine Mbanda are both National Human Rights Commission Experts leading the struggle to improve the human rights conditions for the illegally detained leaders. All of the experts are West Cameroonians.
