In this new ranking, the University Cheikh Anta Diop who was regarded until then as the best university of black Francophone Africa, lost its place to The University of Yaounde I, Cameroon.
Yaounde university I which is mother of all universities in Cameroon ranked 29 th place out of 30. By ranking therefore it is now the best university in Francophone black Africa with 5402 publications , followed by that of the Witwatersrand, with 4387.17 publications.The third is based in Uganda Makerere University has 1112.69 publications to his credit.
