Fellow Southern Cameroonians,
Following an underground meeting held yesterday, Saturday March 18th, 2017 in Bamenda by members of the Southern Cameroons Parents Association, striking teachers and pro restoration PTAs leaders, a resolution was passed to create the Union of Southern Cameroons Parents Teachers Associations (USCAPTAs), breaking off from the Yaounde recognized (UPTAs), Union of Parents Teachers Associations who have failed to take a clear stand on our struggle for statehood.
The goal of newly created USCAPTAs is to unite and align all Southern Cameroons PTAs behind the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium (CACSC) and the Southern Cameroon Ambazonia Consortium United Front (SCACUF) in the fight for the unconditional restoration of our independence.
In this regard. Prince Akere Divine Achu, PTA president and proprietor of Mandela Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, Buchi – Santa was elected in abstenia as the poineer president of USCAPTAs. By this token, USCAPTAs reaffirms it support for the decisions taken by the Advisory Council of the Consortium headed by Mr. Tassang Wilfred, Barrister Eyambe Elias, and Prof. James Abangma in realigning the leadership, as these decisions work towards the best interest of the struggle. By this same measure, USCAPTAs officially endorses SCACUF as the umbrella organization grouping all the liberation movements working towards the restoration of our independence.
In another resolution, USCPTAs calls for the unconditional release of Consortium president, Barrister Balla Nkongho, Dr. Fontem Neba, Mr. Penn Terence Khan, Mancho Bibixy and all detainees, the restoration of our internet, and the immediate dimilitarization of our territories. Stay tuned for details in the coming days.
